By Amanda. Something we have come to appreciate in our brief years of motherhood is finding those products that can do many, many things. We already have so much crap to carry in our bags, and if we can minimize the amount of products in our mom bags - then that makes us two very happy mamas.
Skinny & Co. Coconut Oil
This stuff is bomb. It's all natural, 100% raw, pure, wild-harvested, "cold pressed" coconut oil. Jess can testify as she's already gone through multiple jars of it since her daughter was born at the end of January. What's great about this product is it can be used as a moisturizer, hair detangler, cooking oil, or even as a diet supplement. Another reason we love this product is the size range. You can get a massive jug of it, or a cute little 2 oz jar which fits perfectly into your bag.
C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve
I've had horrible issues with my hands being overly dry, my cuticles looking ungodly, and my lips being super chapped. I initially bought this product as a lip balm, but when I was reading the tin, it can actually be used all over your body. I've started slathering it on my hands a few times a day, and suddenly my cracked knuckles are smooth, my cuticles are looking decent, and my lips are buttery. I've also started using this on Olivia when she gets a dry skin patch on her face, or as a barrier when she gets a booboo. This product can be found in most Bath & Body Works and most times they are having a great sale, and the price just can't be beat at $5.50! If you aren't partial to the smell of roses or you're like Jess and prefer a multi-use balm with no fragrance, she's a big fan of Aquaphor as a great substitute! They have them in small tubes perfect for your bag or desk drawers, and bigger tubs for use at home. We also really like Honest Co. Healing Balm too!
That's right, you heard me, baby wipes. Your kid has a booger? Baby wipe. They spilled something? Baby wipe. Your makeup is half melting off your face? Baby wipe. You got some glazed donut on your steering wheel? Baby wipe. Someone is riding in your car and you want to make it look mildly presentable? Hit it with a baby wipe. There's some sort of magical chemical in baby wipes that can just take grease off an engine. Haven't tried it, but I'm sure it would work.
Let us know what multi-use products you've been keeping in your bag!
