Fête | Craft Beer Night!

By Amanda. This past Saturday, Craig and I hosted a craft beer tasting party. For Christmas I ordered him the Craft Beer Club which is a monthly subscription of craft beers delivered right to your door from brewers all over the U.S. What I like about this concept is that it give us a chance to try different beers from breweries that we otherwise would not have known about, and it's a total dude's dude kinda gift. I also love supporting local and keeping our money right here in the good ole US of A.

Another aspect of this party was using not only local brewed beers, but local food as well. We knew we wanted to cater our main course and I loved the idea of pairing beer and BBQ together. Craig and I had dinner at this bar/eatery called Urban Brew and BBQ and we absolutely loved it! We love their mission of serving it fresh, and keeping it local. We also used Urban Canning Company's pickled vegetables for our pickle platter as appetizers, and boy did those habenero dill pickles go quick! Urban Canning Company is another local company who creates unique canned goods, jams and mustard's. All of her products are all natural and locally sourced, so again, its all made right here in the US!

I had a butt ton of fun decorating for this party too! I used brown packaging paper to cover all the tables so that I could write what each item was, and also to add some fun little quotes and sayings, but it also helped with clean up if there were some spills and dribbles. My crafty hubs also made each wooden flight by hand so that it was easy for everyone to carry around multiple glasses of beer.

The party was a lot of fun and a good excuse to enjoy Craig's Christmas gift. Nothing made him happier than enjoying some craft brews with close friends.
