First let me just say if you haven't had a chance to check out some of Cara Loren's tutorials- do yourself a favor and watch them! She puts together a fantastic 5 minute routine with some drugstore brands that are very affordable and they work! Revlon has become my new best friend - from their cover up sticks to their Colorstay foundation - it's light and has maximum coverage. Depending on the type of coverage I need, I'll either use a BeautyBlender sponge or a foundation brush. Yes, there is a difference. The sponge will put more foundation on your face giving you maximum coverage where as a brush will do a light sweep over your face and look more airbrushed. e.l.f. also makes some great products that Jess and I have used for years and will never look at another brand, especially since their products are budget friendly. The waterproof eyeliner pens have been our absolute favorites and it's only two dollars! That's right ladies, $2.00! This eyeliner has blown other liquid eyeliner brands out of the water - we have yet to find another comparison! e.l.f. also offers other great products like eye shadows- which have been very good to me - and my wallet! They are long lasting and and go on smoothly. One other favorite from e.l.f. is their clear mascara/ brow tamer. I buy these in bulk and stash them everywhere. Unruly eyebrows can get scary! For my mascara, I recently started using Maybelline's Volume Express Falsies. I like how it's super easy to apply and doesn't leave any clumps. I have also noticed that since using it, I don't get mascara residue on my upper lids towards the end of the day - another plus! Another good one is L'Oreal False Fiber Lashes - it really makes my eyes pop. My one makeup splurge is the M.A.C. Mineralize Blush, it goes on great and stays all day long.
When I was pregnant, I noticed a big change in my skin. It was dryer than usual and became SUPER sensitive. I went to Lush and spoke with one of their sales associates who gave me a little more insight on my skin. One of the best beauty decisions that I ever made was purchasing their Celestial Moisturizer. I still use it to this day before applying my makeup. It has a lot of gentle, hydrating ingredients and doesn't contain a lot of irritating ingredients that sting sensitive skin. It feels great, smells great, and makes my skin look great.
So there you have it! :) We'd love to hear what beauty products that you swear by, too!
